Write the grade into the PO — without it there is no agreed pass level. We grade on the 1–5 grey scale and report per lot.

Both swatches start in the same navy. The grey scale under each shows the change after washing.
Apparel buyers usually require grade 4 for washing and 3–4 for wet rubbing. The grade is assessed by comparing the tested swatch with the original under standard light.
Tolerances go into the PO — GSM ±3%, usable width ±1″ — and every roll is weighed and measured.

Each shirt front panel needs 14″ across the width. At 58″ four panels fit side by side. If the roll arrives at 56″, only three fit and the fourth moves to the next row, so the cutting room uses more length for the same order.
Every roll passes the inspection frame before packing. Rolls above 40 points per 100 yd² do not ship.

Pilling starts in the yarn. Choose the spinning method by end use and price; target pilling grade ≥ 3–4 (ISO 12945-2).

Fabric-Supplier controls cotton shrinkage to ≤ 3% by pre-shrinking and compacting in finishing and wash-testing every lot: a 50 × 50 cm square is marked, washed and measured in warp and weft. The shrinkage report is sent before shipment.
